For many meets, and especially Nationals, there are often a large number of unaffiliated adults who sometimes wish to compete together as a team. If you wish to do this, you can coordinate with other independent adults to form teams within the Alumni / Open club. As a starting point, you can reach out to potential teammates via the Just Like a Fine Wine...Adult Gymnastics Group Facebook page (this page is not affiliated with the NAIGC) or the NAIGC Gymnastics Alumni Facebook Group.

Clubs

Find a Club

If you go to a school with an existing club program, then reach out to that team to join. A team admin can create an NAIGC account for you from the Team Management page. If you are a team admins and unfamiliar with the registration system, you can watch this town hall. If you are a new club or your previous officers did not grant you administrative access, please contact us at info@naigc.org.

If you are looking for a club, we recommend you reach out to your Regional Coordinator to help you find an existing club in your area. The NAIGC keeps a list of existing clubs, but the Regional Coordinators usually have the most up-to-date information for your area.

Here are a few things to consider when starting a new club. As each school and university is different, it is a good idea to first reach out to your school’s club or recreational sports department to learn about any requirements/mandatory items that may not be listed here.

  • Members
  • Club officers – President, Vice President and Treasurer are good basic positions which help organize and run the club.
  • Representation in your school’s “Club Sports Council”
  • Practice space – can be the same as your school’s Varsity team, other on-campus practice space, or an off-campus local club (USAG, YMCA, AAU, etc.)
  • School approved Charter/Constitution/Bylaws
  • Insurance (if not covered by your school’s policy) – options include AAU and USAIGC.
  • Coach and/or Supervisor – not required by the NAIGC but may be required by your school. It never hurts to have one if available.
  • Money – School fees/dues, league fees (NAIGC individual membership fee, club fee), workout facility fee (if necessary), competition fees, uniforms, and team apparel such as tshirts, sweatshirts, pants, warm ups, etc. Make a budget to help new members understand required and optional costs. Some schools may provide funding to club sports, so be sure to discuss this with your club/recreational sports department.

If you have additional questions, please contact your Regional Coordinator or email info@naigc.org.
