Christine joined the NAIGC Board to advocate for adult beginners and to help the organization that has brought so much joy into her life. Christine took her first gymnastics class at age 36, and quickly fell in love with the sport. She enjoys weekly classes in both North Carolina and Minnesota, and also attends NAIGC Flip Fest and Chellsie Memmel’s Adult Gymnastics Camp. Outside of gymnastics, Christine is Associate Professor of Music Theory at the University of North Carolina Asheville. She received a B.M. in vocal performance at Indiana University and both an M.M. and Ph.D. in music theory at the University of Texas. In her spare time, she also loves singing, eating, hiking, running, biking, swimming, lifting weights, roller skating, and cats.
